NEW YORK, NY and BOOTHWYN, PA, October 6 - WIL Research
Holding Company, Inc. and Behrman Capital are pleased to announce
the completion of an agreement whereby WIL Research Holding
Company, Inc. has acquired QS Pharma as part of a management
buyout for an undisclosed sum. QS Pharma is a US, Pennsylvania
based, privately held contract research organization (CRO)
specializing in providing services to develop and produce
stable, oral dosage forms for use in early phase preclinical
drug development, clinical trials and regulatory submissions.
"The acquisition of QS Pharma strengthens our commitment to the early development CRO space,"
said Roy Dagnall, Ph.D., chief executive officer for WIL Research Holding Company, Inc.
"The addition of QS Pharma to WIL Research Laboratories, LLC., Notox B.V. and Biotechnics, Inc.
provides new expertise to assist clients with formulation development and production of dosage
forms for accelerating the time required to early phase clinical trials."
QS Pharma's co-founders Madurai Ganesan, Ph.D., president
and Michael Maurin, Ph.D., vice president commented "We are
delighted to be joining such a successful, high quality contract
research group with ambitious plans. We are very excited to
be part of a larger organization that will help fuel further
growth at QS Pharma." Both Madurai Ganesan and Michael Maurin
will remain in their current positions.
Behrman Capital has made significant internal and external investments in the WIL Holding
companies, including the latest acquisition of QS Pharma. This has resulted in a strategic
CRO portfolio offering high quality, scientifically driven, complementary toxicology and drug
formulation services on a global basis to best serve the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and
chemical industries.

For the third consecutive year, Dr. Michael B. Maurin, Vice
President and Cofounder of QS Pharma was honored recently
by the Editor, Publisher (Wiley Interscience) and sponsoring
professional associate (American Pharmaceutical Association)
of the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences for outstanding
contributions as a reviewer to the Journal of Pharmaceutical
Sciences in 2005.
